The Solstice of 2008

It's December 21st. The Day of the Winter solstice. Most exciting is the solstice at New Grange Ireland. You can see a live picture of the sun striking down the passageway of this over 5,000 year monument at www.heritageireland.ie

Next time you go to Ireland, if you haven't already done so, you must drive up to New Grange in County Meath. It's only about 2 hours from Dublin to the North. There is now a lottery to go on December 21st so you may not be there for the solstice but any other day is worth visiting this prestigious monument.

I'll put the latest news from New Grange on a different post.
